International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB®)
The information describes two key organizations in software testing certification: the ISTQB® and its regional partner, the BSTB. The ISTQB® (International Software Testing Qualifications Board), founded in Edinburgh in November 2002, is the global authority that establishes a single, universally accepted international qualification scheme for testing professionals. This scheme, known as the “ISTQB® Certified Tester,” is based on core syllabi and examination guidelines set by the board. The BSTB is the member board responsible for administering these ISTQB® certification programs—including the globally recognized Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL), Advanced Level (CTAL), and Expert Level (CTEL) certifications—within Bangladesh since 2009.
TMMi Foundation
The BSTB (Bangladesh Software Testing Board) expanded its role in 2018 by becoming the TMMi Local Chapter for Bangladesh. In this capacity, the BSTB is responsible for promoting the TMMi (Test Maturity Model integration) scheme within Bangladesh. This promotion includes marketing the TMMi Professional Certification Scheme for individuals and the TMMi Assessment for organizational certification. Additionally, the BSTB is actively working to establish officially recognized Bangladesh -based TMMi professional training providers and TMMi assessment service providers.
